Court Decision Reshapes Political Landscape 1/21/10

The Supreme Court ruled this morning that corporations, labor unions and other groups can directly spend on campaigns, a sweeping change that would open the floodgate to political donations nationwide, both for direct contributions to candidates and to fund issue advocacy, much of which is carried on by nonprofits. Today's ruling could damped two California initiatives with nearly identical wording that would put restrictions on corporate donations.
